AP Exams: Week 1

So week one of AP exam testing is finally over!

English Language – The multiple choice and essay prompts were relatively easy compared to the 1996 practice we took a few weeks ago. Shellum, you rock! I loved the open-ended prompt as well. It was so much easier to sound like an *sshole while writing that final essay, but whatever it takes to get a 5.

Calculus BC – The difficulty of the multiple choice was… “expected.” I probably performed as well as I did on the practice exam; however, on the free response, I was completely clueless on the second question (the polar one). I finished question one with high spirits for the rest of the exam, and then after flipping the page and reading question two, my hopes for a perfect free response section sank drastically. Eventually, I slowly worked my way towards answering a few of the parts on that question, but I think I only received a maximum of 7 out of 9 points on it. Oh well! Mrs. Scott is still awesome!

Spanish Language – WHAT THE F*CK! I had no idea that a language exam could be so tiring! The essay prompt was great, speaking went very well, fill-ins were “okay” (so basically, the “Writing” section was a breeze), but then came the listening and the reading. Even the listening was relatively easy, but the readings seemed to draaaag onnnn forrr evvvverrrr. And all those grammar worksheets were for nothing this year. I still have hopes for a five though.

Hope the AP United States History exam went well for everyone! As for the seniors, next week is going to finish us off!

Alrighty, story time! Yesterday, only Thuy, Tyler, and I were in class since the other seven Chemistry AP students were taking AP exams. For the first 35-40 minutes of class, I was making up a test since I was out of chemistry from Monday to Wednesday, but towards the end of class, we became engaged in a very interesting conversation. Tyler brought up a topic about some student from some district having a bonus question on his chemistry test. The question was whether H*ll is exothermic or endothermic (in regards to thermodynamics). The small class of three students and Mr. Findeisen debated that it could be both: endothermic since H*ll is always receiving new victims and exothermic because these victims are being burned (combusted).

Tyler: “Yeah, H*ll is always expanding.”

Mr. Fin: “MMMMMM! Weeeellll, where do all the people GO?”

*Tyler and I look at each other*

Mr. Fin: “Oh, I know! They go to SUB-H*ll, AHAHAHAH!”

…you had to be there to find it funny. I can’t believe I only have two weeks left with that guy!

And now, for the Rockets. What a game last night! T-Mac’s 4 point play? Ridiculous! And RYAN BOWEN! Ahahaha, definitely an unstoppable, white beast. I guarantee he’s going to have insane statistics in Game 7 (32 points, 12 blocks, 4 steals, 9 rebounds, and so on). He’s just trying to get the rest of his team members involved in the game… that’s why he’s so conversative. As for Yao… blehh… I’m freakin’ sick of the refs. Why can’t Dikembe just start for Yao? He’s SO much better! He didn’t win Defensive Player of the Year for being a cr*ppy center. Then again, Yao’s got that stereotypical Asian intelligence. T-Mac is still the best though. He’s got handles, ups, mad skills, and how many players can say that they can look in two different directions simultaneously? I love him!

Happy Weekending!

PS – To all the Chemistry AP students, I DARE you to tell me “Should have studied” next week. I’ll be so incredibly ready, you watch!
