I love the "brother"-hood analogy between chemistry and physics. Still, in specific types of chemistry (physical, biochem, etc.), it's very apparent that we constantly rely on physics to explain what governs the nature of chemical reactions (entropy, conservation of energy/mass, etc.). Also, if you're going to call alchemy a "decent field", we might as well agree that esoteric medicine is a real type of biology. :-D

As for the stock tips, they're always welcome! My portfolio is pretty fixed right now. I got really lucky when I bought Ford for around $1.60/share and set the limit sell price at $3.50 for half my shares earlier this month. Too bad I didn't set that sell price for all my shares. Bleh, you win some... you lose some. Also, what scene is captured in your gravatar? Looks like some sort of construction project.

I'll bite and nitpick: Physics and chemistry didn't make their connection until fairly recently. Before then, most chemistry could rightly be called "alchemy" and was something of an experimental art but still a decent field, so while we find their connections later on (and as they stand, they're still incomplete) I don't believe you can say chemistry "evolved" out of physics, they're more like brothers who thought they were strangers and found out later in life.

Your portfolio looks red today Rish, I got some hot stock tips if you want em :)
