“I’m not afraid of anything!” Throughout my life, I’ve heard people say the aforementioned to a.) overcompensate for something else, b.) impress their peers, or c.) showcase their ignorance when it comes to reality. Fear is an emotion experienced by everyone (especially the weak-minded) and is therefore a fascinating topic.
Who else thinks Billy Mays is beyond human? One second you see him advertising a revolutionary cleaning product (OxiClean), and then a super epoxy compound (Mighty Putty), and now the Big City Slider burger preparation contraption. He could probably set a world record for selling pet rocks if he wanted to share his secret with […]
It’s kind of sad. As far as birthdays go, there are only a few major “milestones” most people recognize. 13 signifies the beginning of teenhood. 16 grants you a driver’s license. 18 allows you to vote. 21 allows you to drink. But what’s after that?
The following is an e-mail sent from a good friend of mine to his undergraduate professors. He is currently a first year medical student (MS1) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. In the e-mail, he describes his experience with Hurricane Ike. Enjoy!

So I was thinking (uh oh), why is one of the leading criticisms posed by Democrats to Sarah Palin indirectly the fact that she’s a woman? Heck, even the public questions what’s going to happen to her family if she becomes Vice President. According to the latest polls, more men have been turned to vote […]
I remember really getting into the sport of tennis a few years ago. At that time, only one name stood above the rest. A name which was unrivaled in ability, class, and consistency. A name which probably struck fear into anyone who had to face it. The name was that of Roger Federer.
This is for the rubbernecker. The individual who we can count on to always make the irrational decision. The gifted member of society who voluntarily goes out of his/her way to make the rest of our lives miserable. The person whose fascination with other people’s business will likely get them into an accident of their […]
I await the the day when the term “compatible” will become obsolete. The day where you won’t need ten different cables to connect various peripherals to your desktop/notebook. Where corporate firms no longer have a say in what computer users can or cannot do with their operating systems. Where software of any kind will run […]
