Though medical students are inundated with education and training, all of us still need to consider the non-medical aspects of our futures, marriage being an important item on the “to do list” for many. It’s interesting to note how many fourth year medical students (MS-4s) are in a serious relationship (if not already married) with […]
Sympathetic Chain, Rami Communicans, and Splanchnics

After anatomy lab today, I was fortunate to catch an explanation of rami communicans by one of our fantastic anatomy teachers. After having gone through so much of the human body’s gross anatomy, it’s a bit embarrassing that I still didn’t have a grasp of exactly how splanchnic nerves, the sympathetic chain, and white/gray rami […]

One of my classmates brought up an interesting point which many who actively participate in the world of social networking have also questioned – is Twitter really worth it? After all, doesn’t Facebook already offer status updates? Doesn’t Facebook have mobile applications, a developer API, and a substantial user base? Absolutely!
Baylor College of Medicine to Remain Independent

Well it’s official – Baylor College of Medicine will remain an independent institution. The Houston Chronicle does a great job summarizing the background and current circumstances associated with making this decision (link to article).
At first glance, the neck looks relatively simple. Surely such a mundane structure can’t be as difficult as the abdominal viscera, right? Wrong!
