My Butterfly iQ Ultrasound!

After returning from the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists annual meeting in Chicago last week, I received my Butterfly iQ and have been using it over the last week!

Drop me a comment below with questions, and I look forward to sharing more point-of-care ultrasound information with all of you!

  1. COVID-19 has freed up my CME allowance for other things. This is near the top of that list of other things. Looking at their website I was a little bummed to see they charge a yearly fee to use their device beyond very very basic functions. The product itself is already $2k+. The basic mode seems very restrictive. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

    • Hey Mike! I think it’s a great teaching tool and helpful in ICUs when I needed to do quick heart/lung exams… but if you work at an institution where you have plenty of SonoSites, etc… then it’s a waste of money.
