It’s funny how the passage of time works. So many things change, yet others remain invariably the same. That’s the beauty of blogging. After a few years, you can reflect back on different parts of your life and witness how events and other life experiences have shaped your worldview.
I recently saw The Bucket List (great movie by the way) and decided to compile a similar list to that referenced in the film.
A peer finally had the courage to confront me about one of my annoying idiosyncrasies. He went on to acknowledge that he too practiced the same thing in the past, but changed because he disagreed with it. So what is this elusive flaw that was brought to my attention? A critic would call it arrogance. […]
Things are finally beginning to show signs of concluding. I’ve typed up a general draft of my personal statement for medical school. My cap, gown, and graduation frame were purchased yesterday. The MCAT is approaching. TMDSAS registration will begin soon. I’ve waited nearly three years for this quarter, yet now it’s finally hitting home that […]
I hold myself to be a relatively successful individual. Like everyone, I have strengths and weaknesses, and I understand what they are and how to improve upon them. I’m sitting in the library with about a third of my physical chemistry report completed., about three hours till lab and a Diet Green Tea down the hatch. The weather is absolutely amazing outside, but alas, I’m confined to my little “corner of infinite losers who can’t get lab reports done in a timely manner.” […]
So it’s New Year’s Eve, and people are preparing to host/attend parties, get drunk, reflect on the past twelve months, and make resolutions to fulfill throughout the next year. Some promise their families they will go on a diet, others vow to control their expenditures, etc. The one thing these people have in common is […]
The prompt is simple enough: Is trust overrated? My answer is even more simple: Absolutely not. I cannot fathom what would drive a person to genuinely believe that trust, one of the few things that *every* person unconditionally exhibits, could be considered anything aside from an absolute necessity. As children, we are raised learning that […]
