I’m getting ready to watch Game 4 of the Nuggets/Lakers series tonight, and in the meantime, I’m reflecting on the NBA Playoffs this year. Does anyone else think that its been really aggressive? Sure, teams are taking their games up to the next level, but think about the number of technical fouls, flagrant fouls, and […]

HBU Commencement 2009 and the Yao-less Rockets

I had a great time attending what will probably be the last HBU graduation I’ll see in light of beginning medical school this July. There’s a lot to say about the happiness felt by graduates on this day, but from my perspective, it was more a time of reflection. Seeing so many of my friends […]

Tonight when the Rockets take on the Trail Blazers in Game 4, I’ll be watching the home bench looking for our single greatest cheerleader on his feet (despite his knee injury) - Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo.

The Rockets just suffered a loss in Dallas as the Mavs took the last game of the regular season 95 to 84. Regardless, both teams will be entering this year’s playoffs, but the only question is which seed they will claim. This season was rather interesting, since most of the contenders for the western conference […]

Tracy McGrady – Wait… Isn’t He Injured?

For the last few seasons, it seems like the only thing Houston Rockets fans could count on was T-Mac missing significant portions of the season. Whether he injures his forefinger, his back, his knee, or some other appendage we haven’t even discovered yet, McGrady is the definition of a benchwarmer – unfortunately, a very expensive […]

NBA All Star Weekend 2009

Since the Houston Rockets have been having trouble beating anyone as of late, I’m glad the much anticipated NBA All Star Weekend didn’t fail me as well. Would Jason Kapono three-peat his 3-point shootout title? What crazy dunk would Dwight Howard conjure up this year? And of course, my favorite – what implications would having […]

Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James

The Lakers just snapped the Cavalier’s 23 home game winning streak in a 101-91 defeat. Neither LeBron James nor Kobe Bryant had a stellar performance, but this was still a highly anticipated game between the two super-stars. Arguably, Bryant and James are the two best players in the league, so naturally the question is – […]

Maybe it’s just me, but this is the first Super Bowl where I wasn’t hyped up about the pre-game, the actual game, the half-time show, or the commercials. Heck, I didn’t even remember the Super Bowl was being played today until I was reminded a few nights ago. I’ve never been much of a TV […]

Whether it’s basketball, football, baseball, hockey, soccer, tennis, swimming, running, golf, billiards, foosball, table tennis, volleyball, softball…. you get my point… there are LOTS of sports. With such a vast choice, we have numerous ways to keep ourselves entertained by either engaging in the sport, going out to see it played by professionals, or simply […]

I remember really getting into the sport of tennis a few years ago. At that time, only one name stood above the rest. A name which was unrivaled in ability, class, and consistency. A name which probably struck fear into anyone who had to face it. The name was that of Roger Federer.
