Nothing eventful at all this birthday – another long but rewarding day at Texas Children’s Hospital. Scrubbed into a five hour total colectomy followed up by an open gastrostomy. Straightforward cases… but I’ve never felt so tired from just standing in one place. Read more
This birthday was pretty uneventful. I spent most of the day watching football. I’m so proud of the Texans for winning the incredible game against the Redskins, but even more ecstatic that the Cowboys are starting 0-2. Looking forward to the Saints’ game against the 49ers tomorrow!
With exams around the corner, I tried to cram in some studying time, but as usual, my feeble attempts were overwhelmed by the aforementioned football games. Read more

It’s kind of sad. As far as birthdays go, there are only a few major “milestones” most people recognize. 13 signifies the beginning of teenhood. 16 grants you a driver’s license. 18 allows you to vote. 21 allows you to drink. But what’s after that?
Upon completing two decades of life, I’ve reassured myself of one concept that I continue to hold dear — friendship. Thanks to everyone who acknowledged me on my birthday: for the party, for the gifts, and most importantly, for the memories of the past year.
