There was a lot covered in Obama’s address to Congress, but the part which struck me most dealt with his tax policies. He promised to not only maintain the taxes of people earning less than $250,000/year, but offer them tax breaks. Well, how about those earning more than that threshold? It seems a little weird that he spent so much of his speech advising people how to progress up the social ladder (better education system, more job opportunities, rewarding innovation, etc.), but he wants to penalize the people who were already committed to those virtues.
Remember 1997? I sure do. I finally hit the “double digits” by turning ten years old. My family was starting to settle into our business ventures. I was doing well in elementary school, making lots of friends and already pursuing activities dealing with medicine. Life was great.
