Most Israelis and Palestinians favor a “two-state” policy whereby Palestine would become its own independent state alongside Israel. The drawback is that many Israelis residing in the West Bank and Gaza Strip refuse to give up their land to form such a state. The other option is a “single-state” policy where the entire region (Israel, West Bank, Gaza Strip, etc.) would become a bi-national state… supposedly with “equal rights.” If politics has taught us anything, it has to be the fallibility of “equal rights” clauses. No wonder the latter option is less popular. ;-)


As far as my opinion, well, I’ve supported Israel in the past; however, events in the last two years have driven me towards indifference. I don’t know too much about this whole ordeal, so I really want to know your opinions regarding how the issue should be peacefully resolved (or at least mended) for the time being.
