Summer Break Is Over

“Oh no! I only have one month of summer break left!?!” *insert some additional whining here* I had this realization multiple times in grade school around this time of the year. Now with only two weeks of break in total, I find myself whining about having “only 35 hours of break left.” Read more

My Summer Vacation

While most of my classmates traveled abroad for recreation and/or participating in something “medically related”, I had a far less eventful (but successful) summer break. Read more

New Domain

Well, it’s been a month since I’ve registered the AED site, and so far, the service Dot5Hosting has provided has exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality, reliability, and customer support; therefore, I decided to transfer my personal webpage to a new domain hosted by this same company for the aforementioned reasons. Also, I really plan to be more diligent with my blogging… (we’ll see how long that lasts). =).

So it’s one day closer to the MCAT. Today was the last official “written” MCAT which I happily passed up due to my lack of preparation. April 7th of 2007 is when I’ll demonstrate my mad science, verbal, and logical skills on the computerized version on that wonderful test. Till then, more independent studying and enrollment in a preparatory class by the end of this year are absolute priorities.

Summer-school concluded on Thursday, and I must say that I’m extremely relieved. Organic Chemistry I and Organic Chemistry II proved to be far more interesting than what I was initially anticipating; fortunately, I did well in both classes and got my A’s. As for English II, I’m pretty sure I got my A, but I won’t know until the transcripts get updated. What an incredibly strange class! I mean, the professor was awesome, and I finally had a chance to read some very well-known plays such as “The Glass Menagerie”, “A Doll’s House”, and “Hamlet”; however, compared to the organic classes, English II took a *lot* more time than I expected. Oh well, now it’s over. =).

Okay, I think I’ll go and fulfill my stereotypical “geeky” personality and attend to MCAT studies.

Happy Enjoying-Three-Weeks-Off!

Summer Session Two

Published: August 2, 2006 at 1:04 am in School

So far, the second summer session has gotten off to a horrific, disgraceful, pathetic, humiliating, and pretty fun start! XD. Organic II has been going well. It’s just that English II has been a living nightmare. Our average is comprised of six “essays” (each weighing the exact same) based on short stories (and eventually poetry) we have read. Three of these essays are “in class” and three are “out of class.” On the bright side, there are only four people in the class so discussions tend to be relatively personal and there’s less… noise? Yeah. We’ve had three graded essays so far, (two in class and one out of class). Much to my surprise, the out of class essay faired far worse grade-wise (85, =/) compared to the two in class counterparts (90, 92). No matter what I do to alter my vocabulary and sentence structure, I just can’t seem to find a technique that pleases the professor. I just finished another out of class essay which I will submit in seven hours, so I’m hoping I manage to do well. Blah, enough about that.
TA-ing for Physics II has to be one of the best ways of staying out of trouble during the summer. The people in the class are amazing, both intellectually and socially, and we always have some good laughs while measuring a circuit’s amperage or finding a replacement resistor. =). Speaking of which, I better get ready for today’s lab and probably get some sleep.

Happy Wednesday-ing!
