2010-2011 NBA Fantasy Lineup

I was one of a dozen participants in my class to take part in an NBA fantasy league draft this evening. Though I’m a huge NBA fan, this is my first time to actually partake in fantasy sports – hopefully it won’t be too much of a distraction from studying. Here’s my lineup:

  • Steve Nash (point guard)
  • Kobe Bryant (shooting guard)
  • Chauncey Billups (point guard)
  • Caron Butler (shooting guard, small forward)
  • Carlos Boozer (power forward, center)
  • Luol Deng (small forward)
  • Yao Ming (center)
  • Chris Kaman (center)
  • Tony Parker (point guard) – util
  • Corey Maggette (small forward, power forward) – util
  • Shaquille O’Neal (center) – bench
  • Tracy McGrady (shooting guard, small forward) – bench
  • Glen Davis (power forward, center) – bench

Within half an hour of completing the draft, I already initiated a trade for an undrafted player due to an oversight I had. I’ll let you guess where I made the mistake. 😉

Today was a great day for sports in general. The Saints dominated. The Texans had a great comeback victory. And most importantly… the Cowboys lost… again. 😀

  1. who was your first pick? shaq is a fantasy nonentity, as is tmac. but its your first time doing fantasy, you’ll see what’s up, shaq is only getting you rebounds, which are easy to get in fantasy. hope you didnt draft him too high. my guess is you took kobe in the first, hope you didnt have that high of a pick, otherwise you reached. good pick with kaman though, he was a great fantasy player last year

    • Hahaha, oh no. Shaq was one of my last picks (for the bench). As a Houstonian who lived through T-Mac’s nonexistence on the court for the Rockets, I really don’t expect much from him, so I also put him on the bench.

I had the second overall pick, and yeah, Kobe was my first pick. 🙂 I also swapped Glen Davis for Tayshaun Prince (PF) who will play in Boozer’s place till he gets back later this year.

I’ll probably get last place in my league, but it’ll be a fun learning experience nevertheless. Thanks for the comment!
