MyFitnessPal, Jawbone UP, and Android Wear Integration

Residency often makes it difficult to eat healthy on a regular basis. It’s especially easy to venture down the path of stress eating during long call shifts.

After thinking about my eating habits and propensity to use technology to fix everything, I arrived at a neat integration. I’m always wearing my Moto 360 smartwatch and carrying my Nexus 6 smartphone, so I put them to use!

I’m using Jawbone’s UP activity tracker interfaced with my Moto 360 to get a decent overview of my walking activity at work. Jawbone is also able to link into MyFitnessPal where I objectively log my daily food intake. This combination guilts me into feeling bad about that 500 calorie Oreo McFlurry when I’ve only taken 8,000 steps and already met my daily caloric requirement. 😀
