Over the last year, I’ve been doing Instagram Live videos covering medical lessons, random Q&As, my philosophies about medicine, communication in healthcare, and other topics relevant to being a trainee. I received innumerable requests to start a podcast series discussing the aforementioned topics, and although I was initially reluctant, I figured that I’d (sort of) wing it and put together a series. I call it “On Call.”
This podcast will be informal and serve as an audio outlet of my musings. I can’t guarantee when episodes will be released… their quality… or even their relevance to issues at hand. What I do guarantee is that the podcast will be free of commercialization and reflect the true life of a physician/healthcare professional rather than the glamorous portrayals of medicine rampant over social media.
Now what hardware/software will I be using to accomplish this endeavor?
- Blue Yeti – Blackout Edition USB microphone
- Dragonpad pop filter
- Sony WH-1000xM2 wireless noise cancelling headphones
- Apple Logic Pro with Waves’ Z-Noise plugin
- Zeratul – my digital audio workstation (DAW)
I’ll be publishing the podcast on my blog initially, but with time, distribution will hopefully encompass iTunes, Spotify, etc.
Feel free to always drop me a comment with recommendations! 🙂
