Blogging

I embarked on my blogging journey four years ago, and what do I have to show for it? Well, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve surprised a lot of people with my cynicism and strong opinions. And maybe, just maybe… I’ve ticked some of them off too. 😉

In the coming years, I think blogging will become a necessity for individuals and companies trying to keep up with the times. Apart from the general website, blogs allow an author (or group of authors) to have a much more intimate conversation with their readers. Whereas websites tend to remain relatively static, blogs are inherently dynamic in their content and provide a better learning environment for both the author(s) and readers.

So far this year, I’ve been asked by several people how to go about setting up their own blog. I run the WordPress blogging platform on this site, but since I have my own domain (rk.md), I must manage the updates, plugins, themes, etc. for myself. If you’re interested in creating your own blog for free, register for WordPress.com or Blogger. Both of the aforementioned services are highly reputed in the blogging world, and should you choose to ultimately purchase your own domain name down the road, your older posts can easily be imported into your new site. 🙂

Let me know if you need further clarification or require some assistance. Happy blogging!
