First Day Of Pediatrics

Today was the first day of my last core rotation in medical school – pediatrics! I’ll be spending most of the two months at the largest pediatric hospital in the country – Texas Children’s Hospital. 🙂 After the routine orientation/badging this morning, the group split into our respective services. For me, this is pediatric gastroenterology for the first week.

I had a fantastic day on the service, and this week is shaping up to be excellent! The residents immediately welcomed me and started teaching right off the bat, and the attending asked questions which I was lucky to know the answer to. Although it was a 15+ hour day, I feel like it just flew by between seeing consults, rounding, noon conference, and walking around.

Tomorrow will be a long day in the GI endoscopy suite. Maybe they’ll let me drive that camera. 😉
