Yesterday was National Doctor’s Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the service of physicians. Interestingly enough, the date (March 30th) is the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery. Hooray for old school ether anesthesia!
While it was a busy day between work, lectures, and studying, I had a chance to reflect on how fortunate I am to be a resident physician in this era. There are so many incredible things happening in medicine, and at the end of the day, we get to comfort patients in their more desperate hours. Makes the struggle worth it. 🙂
