Last Day Of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia As A CA-2

Tomorrow will be my last day (hooray for leap years) on the cardiothoracic anesthesia service as a CA-2 resident. The last two months have only reaffirmed my love for this particular field within anesthesiology. So much of the operative course in cardiopulmonary surgery relies on careful coordination between the surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, nurses, pathology, laboratory, and the blood bank to provide safe, effective care for our patients. I’m so thankful for this incredible experience!
