This long weekend was brought to many of us by Labor Day… one of several holidays which I won’t have off starting next year. I can’t help but think that this year’s round of holidays will be the last time I can see them as such. As a resident, not only will I be working on these days, but I’ll likely be addressing the needs of patients who chose to partake in ridiculous activities as part of the holiday’s “festivities” (drunk driving, violence, drugs, etc.) Oh well, at least working with my colleagues will offer the social interaction I value rather than the hours of video games which my days off have become as of late.
