Halfway Done With Apex

A week of Apex courses has flown by, and its been great catching up with classmates (many of whom I’ve not seen since the basic sciences). I’ve learned many high yield pearls to utilize as an intern but still anticipate a rough transition period before I get accustomed to being a resident physician. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to it – especially teaching medical students! 🙂

This week I’ll have lectures in diabetes, EKG, ethics, leadership, and other disciplines which will be invaluable as I begin my career. I was also humbled to be one of roughly 30 students nominated by my classmates for induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society this Wednesday. Excited about getting our service projects underway!

In one of our business lectures earlier this week, we watched the following video outlining the main points of healthcare reform. It’s a must-watch for everyone, whether or not you’re in the healthcare field.

In other news, Match Day is less than two weeks away, my golf swing is improving, and life continues to be on cruise control for the next few weeks. One more week of Apex to go! 🙂
