To begin my career as an attending physician, I purchased an iMac Pro (dubbed Odin at the time), to handle the majority of my day-to-day productivity tasks. I bumped up the specifications slightly to make the device more “future proof” and also added two, vertically-oriented monitors to facilitate programming, web browsing, etc.

In January 2020, I wanted to organize the cables a bit better and purchased an under desk cable management tray as well as the Satechi Type-C Aluminum Monitor Stand Hub.
I installed both cable trays under my Arozzi Arena gaming desk and then secured a surge protector under the desk using Velcro fastener strips. I then adjusted the HDMI/power cables running along my triple monitor mount to hide the display-related cables as much as possible. Here are the current items that connect to my surge protector:
The Satechi monitor stand’s hub functionality allowed me to get rid of the ugly USB hub I was using earlier and elevated the iMac Pro a little more to be in line with the flanking vertical monitors.
Here are some pictures from the project:

In September 2020, I purchased a Drobo 8D Thunderbolt direct-attached storage server. I back this server up to a few WD 5TB My Passport Ultra drives.
In late 2021, I mounted my mirrorless camera to the workstation and purchased additional audio equipment to record lectures, presentations, etc. See the hardware table at the top of the post for information on the camera, lens, and microphone equipment.
Other items on my desk:
- Ember Temperature Control Smart Mug
- Butterfly iQ+ Charger
