I’m looking forward to Matter, a new automation connectivity standard, which will unify the efforts of Apple, Amazon, Google, and other hardware manufacturers to provide more options for smart home users seeking seamless integration and compatibility.
As Apple powers virtually all of my fixed and mobile technology, I went with the Homekit standard using an Apple TV 4K as my hub. Furthermore, I have a dedicated iPad running Home+ 5 mounted on my wall. This acts as a control panel for the apartment in combination with sensor-based automation, scenes, and Siri voice control.
