Looking Back At 2024

2024 has been a whirlwind of milestones and growth, both professionally and personally. This year, I was inducted into the Academy of Master Educators and became the medical director of our organ donor specialty care unit (DSCU). As an associate medical director, I’ve also been heavily involved in our Master of Science in Anesthesia (MSA) program. Training our own anesthesiologist assistant students in didactics and clinicals has been a rewarding experience. I look forward to continue watching this program become a model for other UT programs in Texas!

Toward the end of 2024, our hospital system also navigated the transition to the Epic electronic health record – a familiar challenge I remember going through as a resident.

From a personal standpoint, I finally left the Venue Museum District apartment complex (where I spent four years as a resident and almost five years as an attending) and moved to a penthouse in the Museum District. It’s nice to have more space with a view. 😃

In keeping with my posts from 2016201720182019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, the following table represents some basic numbers regarding my growth on social media.

ON TO 2025

This academic year is going to be centered around promotion to associate professor. It’s an important milestone for any academician as promotion brings more opportunities locally and nationally (not to mention, a raise in the base salary, lol).
